International Yoga Day
International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21.06.2022 with great fervour and enthusiasm. Sri. K.P.Shanumuga Rajeshwaran, Former Inspector General of Police graced the occasion. The students of class 10 and 12 assembled zestfully at 7 a.m. in the morning and exhibited yoga postures under the guidance of our yoga teacher Smt. R Durgadevi and it was followed by other classes from VI std. to IX std. Totally, 19 Asanas and 5 pranayama were performed. The staff, management and parents of our Vidyalaya showcased their zeal in performing yoga. The significance of yoga was emphasized even amidst the general public, wherein 600 students from 4 schools and 120 adults joined the noble act.
International Yoga Day was observed 21.06.2021. The students were sent the Yoga module a week before and they were motivated to perform Yoga. Parents, students, Teachers, Alumni have taken active participation in the celebration of International Yoga Day virtually.
International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21.06.2019 in our School premises at 7.00 a.m. Nearly 1500 students of our school from class VI to XII assembled in the ground to perform Yoga. It was a wonderful sight to visualize the future leaders of our country obeying and following the words of elders. The Principal Smt. S. Usharani welcomed the gathering. The programme was presided over by Smt.Dhanalakshmi, Kreeda Bharathi, Korattur. She rendered a speech on the importance of yoga. The programme started with yoga prayer followed by various asanas like Bhekasana, Bhujangasana, Matsyendrasana etc. Our students, Teachers & parents performed yoga about 40 minutes with the guidance of our Yoga teacher Smt.N.Geetha. The programme concluded with Sankalpam by the students, parents & teachers.
In connection with this, some of our teachers visited the neighbouring five schools. Yogasanas were demonstrated by our Students in those schools. Those school students were also made to perform Yogasanas. The teachers rendered speech regarding the significance of the day and the importance of Yogasanas.
